3How we use it
- To run your account, show your profile to others and match people to work.
- To verify identity and keep the community safe from fraud.
- To process payments and keep financial records.
- To send notifications you ask for, such as messages and approvals.
- To fix bugs, prevent abuse and improve BAID X.
4What others can see
Verified profiles appear in Discover: name, photo, cover, trade or sector, town and region, short bio and public stats such as rank and experience. Your phone number, documents, wallet, payout details and messages are not public.
- People you chat with can see your online status and last seen time.
- Project teammates can see your name, role and agreed rate on that project.
5Encryption and security
- Message bodies and attachments are encrypted with keys that stay on your device. Staff can only see scrambled content.
- Verification documents and payment proofs sit in private storage with strict access rules.
- Access to data is controlled by database security rules, and staff actions are logged.
- No system is perfectly secure. Use a strong password and keep your backup password private.
6Sharing
We share data only with:
- Paystack, to process payments.
- Our hosting and database providers (Vercel and Supabase) who store and serve the service for us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
We don't sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.
7Your rights
Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data and to object to certain uses. Edit most details yourself in Profile → Edit profile. For anything else use Profile → Help center. Some records (like payments) must be kept for a legal period.
8Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. After you leave we delete or anonymize it, except records we must keep by law or to resolve disputes.
9Cookies and storage
BAID X uses browser storage to keep you signed in and to hold your device's encryption key. It does not use advertising trackers.
10Changes and contact
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we'll tell you in the app. Questions or requests: Profile → Help center.
